Installation Considerations:
The flush mounting of ceiling cassettes necessitates the removal of sufficient ceiling material to make room for the unit. Although these pieces are large enough to fit between 24 on-center joists, they cannot fit between 16 on-center joists without changing the framing's structure. In addition, Ceiling Cassettes contain onboard pumps that were pre-installed by the manufacturer to remove any moisture the cooling unit may cause. The pump can raise to 14 pounds of condensate. After that, a PVC drain system must be built to direct the condensation to a secure wastewater destination. The wall-mounted units' refrigerant and wiring connections are identical.

Frequently Asked Questions about the ACIQ-12CC-HH-MB/ACIQ-CC-GRILLE ACiQ Mini-Split Air Handler Ceiling Cassette 12,000 BTU

What is an air handler?

Think of an air handler like the heart of your heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system. It's a box-shaped unit typically located inside your home or in a mechanical room. The air handler's job is to circulate and condition the air.

What is difference between AC and air handler?

The AC cools the air, while the air handler distributes the cooled air throughout your home or building. They often work together as part of a complete HVAC system to keep indoor spaces comfortable.

Is air handler the same as a fan?

The air handler is like the heart of the HVAC system, and the fan is like the pump that circulates the air. While the fan is a key part of the air handler, the air handler itself includes other components that work together to regulate and condition the air before it is distributed into the living or working spaces.

Do air conditioners have air handlers?

Yes, air conditioners have air handlers. An air handler is a crucial part of the HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) system. It's like the "delivery person" for conditioned air. The air handler takes the cooled or heated air from the main unit and distributes it throughout your home or building using a network of ducts. Think of it as the system's way of making sure you feel comfortable by moving the treated air to where it's needed.

Do air handlers use refrigerant?

No, air handlers themselves do not use refrigerant. Air handlers are components of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems that circulate and distribute conditioned air throughout a building. They work in conjunction with other components, such as the evaporator coil and condenser unit, which do use refrigerant to cool or heat the air. The air handler's main job is to move the conditioned air through the ductwork and into the various rooms of a building.
