The SDBD and SDBDe, direct drive fans are designed to exhaust air at a rate of up to 4,984 CFM and at a static pressure of up to 2-1/4". These units are suitable for ducted or non-ducted applications due to their non-overloading backwards inclined wheel and higher static pressure capability.

The spun aluminium exterior is visually appealing and compatible with the belt-driven Model SDB and companion gravity units, forming a complete ventilation system. Direct drive units have smaller wheel diameters, which results in low noise levels and quiet operation. Because there are no belts or fan bearings to maintain or adjust, they require very little maintenance. Its roof installation allows for shorter duct runs and more efficient operation.

SDBD and SDBDe are commonly used to exhaust air from commercial and institutional buildings such as hospitals, healthcare facilities, schools, recreational facilities, machinery and equipment rooms, offices, retail stores, and other similar applications.
