Frequently Asked Questions about Triangle Fans

Why is my Fan running in the wrong direction?

A fan will rotate in the wrong direction when a Triangle Engineering motor has been installed in a fan from another manufacturer. Our motors only work on fans manufactured by Triangle Engineering. Look for the nameplate to identify the correct manufacturer.

Why is the motor humming and not starting?

Check to see if the blade and motor shaft turn freely. Check for adequate intake area and exhaust area. If these checks do not stop the humming, the motor most likely needs to be replaced.

Why is my fan cannot be started on its own, but can be started with a stick?
