Frequently Asked Questions about the GCIK-CL6T-AM MrCool Closed Loop System Installation Kit, 6 Ton, w/ Angled Manifold

What is a closed-loop system in HVAC?

A closed-loop system in HVAC refers to a geothermal heating and cooling system that circulates a water-based solution through a closed network of pipes to exchange heat with the ground.

How does a closed-loop system work?

The closed-loop system works by circulating a mixture of water and antifreeze through underground pipes. It absorbs heat from the ground in the winter for heating and releases heat into the ground in the summer for cooling.

What are the advantages of a closed-loop system?

Closed-loop systems are energy-efficient, environmentally friendly, and have lower operating costs. They provide consistent heating and cooling throughout the year.

Can a closed-loop system be installed in any location?

Yes, closed-loop systems can be installed in various locations, including residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The feasibility depends on factors like available land and soil conditions.

What is the lifespan of a closed-loop system?

Closed-loop systems have a long lifespan, often exceeding 50 years. The underground components are durable and require minimal maintenance.
